Reporting Intern, Facing South

June 2021 – August 2021

I attended bi-weekly pitch meetings, helped to re-digitize archived copies of the Facing South magazine, and I wrote a story about reproductive justice in the South focused on Texas. I continue to freelance for Facing South. My most recently published article is linked here.


Data Reporter, ArkansasCovid.com

August 2020 – May 2021

I analyzed COVID-19 data from the Arkansas Department of Health and created daily data visualizations for ArkansasCovid.com, a statewide, news website. I created daily Tweets on COVID-19 highlights, focused on school infections, and I reported on and wrote stories about the pandemic in Arkansas.


Multimedia Editor, The Arkansas Traveler

May 2020 – May 2021

I managed the Arkansas Traveler website and social media accounts: Twitter (11.5k followers), Instagram (1,377 followers) and Facebook (5250 followers). I created digital content for Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, and I created infographics and graphics for news and feature stories. I edited stories from staff reporters and editors.


Metadata Organizer, The Pryor Center

May 2020 – August 2021

I corrected and organized metadata from the database of KATV news clips ranging from 1960-1990.


Reporting Intern, The Howard Center for Investigative Journalism

May 2020 – August 2020

I reported and researched evictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, using circuit court eviction data from Milwaukee. The final story was published on the Associated Press national wire, linked here.


Social Media Specialist, The Pryor Center

January 2020 – August 2020

I wrote and scheduled posts for the Pryor Center’s Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts using Hootsuite. I promoted Pryor Center events and KUAF podcasts.


News/Beat Reporter, The Arkansas Traveler

I was a news and beat reporter for UofA Crime, Fayetteville Crime, Research, Food Insecurity, Fulbright College and Registered Student Organizations. I attended town hall meetings, Quorum Court, marches and strikes.

I am skilled in building rapport with sources in person or in communities across the country through phone calls, whether the topic of the story is sensitive or not.

  • Photography: I have an interest in photojournalism, and I attended a study abroad in Bolivia where I took portraits of people across the country and interviewed them Humans of New York style.
